The Foundation for Modern Bioprogressive Orthodontics (FMBO) was established in 2012 to promote evidence-based orthodontic information for research, education, and oral health.
Our data services — originally founded in the 1960s as RMO-Data Services — have provided diagnostic support to thousands of orthodontic professionals worldwide for over six decades.

Dr. R.M. Ricketts began his specialty training in orthodontics at the University of Illinois Chicago in 1950 under the direction of Drs. Allan Brodie and William Downs — two pioneers in the field of orthodontics and cephalometrics.
Building upon their foundational work, Dr. Ricketts developed the Bioprogressive Therapy Philosophy, which revolutionized how clinicians approach diagnosis and treatment planning. His contributions to cephalometric analysis, arch development, and facial aesthetics remain influential to this day.
The Foundation was formally established in 2012 to ensure the continuity and advancement of these important educational and research initiatives.
