In 1950, Dr. Robert Ricketts began his postgrad orthodontic course at UIC under influential leaders Allan Brodie and William Downs. This landmark collaboration laid the foundation for what would become the Bioprogressive philosophy, transforming orthodontic treatment through evidence-based diagnostics and comprehensive patient care.
The program has been shaped by contributions from renowned orthodontists including Ruel Bench, Carl Gugino, James Hilgers, Terry Sellke, Duane Grummons, Michael Langlade, and Eichiro Nakajima, among many others who have advanced the field through research, education, and clinical practice.

The course is open to orthodontists with theoretical and clinical experience, preferably in Bioprogressive concepts. Participants should have a solid foundation in orthodontic diagnosis and treatment planning.
